Drupal-day for pupils. Create your site!

The Global Drupal Learning Day will hold on November 15. At that day the Falanster's open source activists go to a library to show drupal-knowledge among the pupils.

 

The core of the issue

 

At schools a lot of time usually it is spent  with learning commercial applications (windows, corel, flash) and only a few time is spent learning open source alternatives (linux, libreoffice, gimp). The goal of Drupal-day is to show these alternatives for pupils and explain how to use them. The most motivated pupils can build their sites with the help of Drupal-club's participants!

 

What is going to be at the workshop?

 

During the theoretical part participants will find out what Drupal is, will see some Drupal's sites examples, will get the information what server-client arhitecture is and what open community is. The practical part will be devoted to the creation of site. Everybody will choose what kind of site he or she wants to make and will begin to implement it. The examples of sites are "My First Blog", site of game clan, "My Gallery", parent committee website, school website, "My Sport Team" and so on. Organizators offer their help during and after the meeting.

 

For whom?

 

Pupils of the 9-11 form, parents, informatics teachers and everybody who is interested in open source software development in Belarus are welcome.

 

What to take with you?

 

It is important to take notebooks, because the practical part is the main.

Wi-fi network is going to be held, but if you have own internet, please, use it.
