Geek Tournament-3. Not at the best fields, but with the best people.
The third Geek Tournament was held in Minsk last Saturday.
In the morning of September 15, thirty-six teams from various cities of Belarus arrived to one of Minsk McDonald's. Then the fields were chosen by lot. Footballers were ready and determined. Hot games, whistles and fans had been filling up four court fields for almost 12 hours.
“Eveything was nice, we like it. Players came from different regoins and towns to play football and enjoy the moment. This is excellnt!" - shared his impressions the “Dreamteam” captain Aliaksandr.
The 13 representatives of diverse tournaments, leagues and championships from Brest, Baranovichi, Zhodino, Vitebsk, Borisov, Mogilev, Gomel, Osipovichi, Slutsk and Minsk participated in court runs for a ball.
Persistent and tired after a while teams in colorful t-shirts changed each other dropping out little by little. Only four the most determined and united teams moved to the final, where they sorted out their relationship.
“Street football, street communties, communication between people, street self-organization - they always will be topical. That's why the Geek Tournament is topical. There is an arranging improvement today: the number of teams increased, last-year regions and new towns joined. Based on the people's initiative, self-organization, mass movement the global changes here are possible. We invite people's initiative and give it the opportunity to develop. We show the example that can be and must be followed”, - said one of the organizers Mikhail.
They finished late evening. Three teams: "Dreamteam" (3rd place), FK "Hmel" (2nd place) and "Best people" (1st place) achieved cherished rewards. Our congratulations to winners!
