Wikification

This page will tell you why Falanster has taken on Wikification. What it was saturated with, and what we did during the 2015-2017 year.

The main goal of Wikification is to strengthen the Wikipedia community.The community will be strong, the Belarusian Wikipedia will be rich, and at the same time culture and language will be enriched.

Project results:

2015 - one of the major areas of the activity: organizational support was obtained for the wiki community; a series of workshops “How to work with Wikipedia” in different parts of the country was held; a Wiki-Helper was created that allows you to quickly learn how to edit Wikipedia; the first successful wiki expedition to the agro town of Bashny took place. Also we held WikiSurvey "How to make Belarusian Wikipedia * more interesting and applicable?" - 188 people took part.

2016 - actively promoted wiki technologies to the masses: we visited 8 cities with master classes and expeditions - from Khodasy and Krulevshchyna to London. Distributed the helper and knowledge. Arranged courses and lectures at universities. Added dozens of new articles and attracted newbies to the wiki community.

2017 - conducted a wiki camp (19 participants from 4 countries). Objective: To increase knowledge sharing, strengthen personal connections in the community, and begin the process of more sustainable self-organization of the Wikimedia user group. a series of lectures was organized in different cities: Mogilyov, Brest, Ostrovets, Minsk, Gomel, Smolevichi, etc. Also we established communication with the Minsk educators.
