Drupal- rally as the melting plot
15-16 December - days of the second Drupal-rally in Minsk.
The preparation is coming to the final phase. We are tired, but the Big Land is already very close to us. The Falanster’s team is full of hope and thirst for new discovery.
On the event we expected to meet drupal-developers, who are ready not only for communication, but also for the active knowledge exchange.
To discover. To us it’s important to organize not the meeting for craftsmen, but social event with profit for everyone: atendees could find like-minded people, and open communities could become stronger by the majority of horizontal connections.
That is why we invited not only web-developers, geeks, drupallers, but other open source communities too. During the Rally we will speak about open-data condition, will listen to the speech about Belarusian Wikipedia and alternative license conditions in Belarus.
To experiment. This time we decided to experiment and make a stress on maximal participation in the program realization of all attendees. Therefore it will be difficult for everyone just to seat in the comfortable armchair and doing nothing. We are going to offer and urge on the collective creativity.
To create. During the Rally we plane to create the social initiative website, which makes only first steps in the Internet space and needs technical supporting. All two days we will be creating the website for the most popular and worthy website according to the social voting and organizers’ opinion.
Culture. We also feel necessity in increasing the belarusian culture in the Drupal-community. Therefore we will translate together with all linguists-experimenters this CMS and will localize some popular modules.
History. Drupal-club, which is a vanguard by the Rally-preparation, it has already existed about one year. In this period all participators got a lot of experience and the community atmosphere, colors and moods were considerably changed. For the most important events we’ve prepared posters. With time this become a collection, which goes up constantly. Therefore we decided to organize a small posters-exhibition, which are calling “Falansters posters. Part 1”. The drupal-club exhibitions opening will be on 15 December - in the first Rally-day.
Why does Falanster need it?
We will show an example, what is possible and necessary to do together to get results. We want to get a positive image and gather up together interesting people, with whom it will be possible to get a new experience and to do experiments.
